Longines Presents Two Forerunner Flyback Chronographs

In 2023, Longines unveiled the Spirit Flyback, continuing its history as the manufacturer of the first Flyback Chronograph (launched in 1925 and patented 10 years later). Previously, the Forerunner Flyback Chronograph was available in stainless steel and titanium. Now, Longines is offering two new gold models.

The new watch has a diameter of 42 mm and a thickness of 17 mm. The case is made of stainless steel and features an 18-carat yellow gold (Ref. L3.821.5.53.2) or 18-carat rose gold (Ref. L3.821.5.59.2) crown, pushers, and bezel. The bidirectional rotating bezel has a green or brown ceramic insert and is marked with a 60-minute scale. The new model features a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, a screw-down crown, a see-through case back, and is water-resistant to 100 meters.

The 18-carat yellow gold version has a gradient green dial, while the 18-carat rose gold version has a gradient brown dial. Symmetrical 30-minute counters and small seconds counters at 3 and 9 o'clock are decorated with a snailing pattern. At 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock, the five stars (for precise timekeeping) and the winged hourglass logo are decorated respectively. The 18-carat yellow gold-plated or 18-carat rose gold-plated hands, Arabic numerals, and even the markings on the bezel are filled with distressed Super-LumiNova® material to ensure readability in low-light conditions.

By looking through the case back, it is possible to admire the built-in L791.4 automatic movement. Featuring 28 jewels and 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), the movement has an anti-magnetic silicon balance spring and a gold oscillating weight engraved with the collection's iconic globe motif, offering a power reserve of 68 hours. In addition, the L791.4 calibre is certified by the Switzerland Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).

Longines' new Gold Forerunner Flyback Chronograph comes with a green or brown leather strap with a double safety push-button folding clasp.
